Tree Lighting

The Indian Valley is full of traditions. Souderton Telford Main Streets' Promotion Committee is working to create plenty of new traditions. The Holiday Tree Lighting one such tradition under development.

In 2008, the tree lighting in Telford drew over 300 people on a cold winters night for the first holiday tree lighting. The wonderful response to this first attempt has set a high standard that the Promotion Committee is working hard to sustain that level of excitement.

The tree lighting in Souderton was more low key last year. It was part of the 50th anniversary of the Holiday Parade. A daytime treelighting was lacking an element of excitement but the plans for the pocket park were not finished. This year, the Promotions Committee is working with the Design Committee and the Borough to assure a proper setting for an evening treelighting.
